IIT Varanasi has opened its admission for the academic session 2024-2025.The JEE Main Registration window is now open for session 2 exam and the last date to apply is Mar 2. JEE Main session 2 is to be held from April 4 to 15. The online registration process for the JEE Advanced 2024 exam is April 21 to 30, 2024. Candidates have to pay the fee by May 6. The exam is scheduled to be held on May 26, for B.Tech admissions.
Indian Institute of Technology Varanasi earlier known as the Banaras Engineering College was established in 1919, and in 2012 it was renamed the Institute of Technology of India Banaras Hindu University. It has become a prominent place where thousands of students come every year to shape their careers. In 1968, three colleges, Banaras Engineering College (founded in 1919), College of Technology, and College of Mining and Metallurgy merged and became the IIT BHU to provide more facilities to the engineering students. Later in 2012, it was named as Indian Institute of Technology, Varanasi. The institute is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and All India Council for Technical Education(AICTE) and has top faculties, an excellent placement cell, well-equipped labs, on-campus hostels, clubs, and many other facilities to offer students. The institute has been gaining popularity among students all over India even international students for its placement-oriented quality education in the fields of Engineering, Technology and Science.
The IIT BHU courses are offered at UG, PG and PhD levels, in the field of engineering and applied science. The degrees offered are B.Tech, B.Arch, B.Tech + M.Tech, M.Tech, M.Sc and PhD. The institute also offers part-time courses alongside regular courses for both domestic and international students. IIT Varanasi course admissions are conducted on the basis of entrance exam scores and counselling. IIT BHU offers undergraduate, postgraduate, PhD and combined courses (B.Tech + M.Tech) in around 4 streams, engineering, technology, humanities and sciences for both domestic and international students. All the undergraduate courses (B.E/ B.tech) are 4 years long except the B.Arch program. Candidates need to invest a total of 5 years to study any Integrated Dual Degree course or B.Arch program at the Indian Institute of Technology, Varanasi. On the other hand, M.Tech and M.Sc courses are of 2 years in length.

The institute has a student-friendly environment as well as numerous facilities within its 400 acres of campus. Being a 100-year-old institution, the campus is quite impressive. It has a retro Indian style. The IIT BHU campus includes buildings, departments, air-conditioned classrooms, well-equipped labs, halls, hostels, sports grounds and other sporting facilities etc. Students have access to free wifi connections anywhere within the campus.
Library: The central library of IIT BHU has an enriched collection of books and journals, especially in Engineering and Technology. The library has more than 80 thousand books and also e-book and e-resource features to provide students with as many study materials as possible.
Central Instrument Facility: CIF or Central Instrument Facility is one of the most crucial and specialized facilities offered by IIT BHU. It provides high-quality lab instruments and machinery for the students to perform their lab activities smoothly and with perfection. In IIT BHU, Students have access to high-tech instruments like Transmission Electron Microscope, Scanning Probe Microscope, Particle Image Velocimetry and many more.
Hostel: On-campus hostel facility is available for the students of the Indian Institute of Technology, Varanasi. Girls and boys have separate hostels and the food provided is completely hygienic and delicious. Both girls’ and boys’ hostels have a 24/7 wifi facility.
Council and Clubs: IIT BHU has various clubs that help students in growing and gather experience beyond academics. Computing Facility: Students of IIT BHU have access to top-class computing facilities through Supercomputing Centre and Centre for Computing and Information Services (CCIS). These two still need a lot of improvement and are on their way to serving the students properly.
